Something To Do

So between undergrad and graduate school I am going to have 5 or 6 months with pretty much nothing to do. I am going to need something to do!!!...a job would be nice. Even though I do now have a Bachelors degree I do not want to get a "good" job, at least one that pays well or is a lot of work. I am after all only going to be able to work for a few months (I will have to quit when I start grad school) and don't want to get a job that is going to be hard to quit, because it is a "good" one. I basically just want a fun fairly mindless job that deals with something I like.....maybe aquariums???

Well just down the street from where I live in Bellevue they just opened a new Petsmart. When I saw them preparing it for the grand opening I thought that would be a great place to keep me busy over my break, I like animals....particularly fish, I have experience working in places like that, I can walk there, and did I mention I like fish? Anyway, I quickly sent in an application and set up an interview. Well today was the interview and they hired me on the spot. I really can't blame them....if you owned a Christian book store and Jesus applied there, I don't think you would hesitate to hire him on the spot either.

Anyway, I should start there next week and am pretty happy with this outcome. I enjoy working/cleaning my fish tanks so I would imagine doing it there will be just as much fun. Also, we didn't discuss this but I am sure I will get an employee discount which I am very much going to enjoy. I will be working there part time, starting at $10 bucks a hour.

God Bless

Congratulations Spencer! I am so proud of you. So proud to KNOW you! Ha. And I am so happy for you that this phase of your education is finally over. The next phase is going to be tough but I'm sure so rewarding! Have fun at Petsmart. I am going to laugh however if they do not let you work with the fish. J/K. Heart you!

The position I got is small animals specialist....which mean I will deal with rodents, birds, reptiles, and most of all fish (which is their big seller). In my lifetime I have owned snakes, lizards, birds, rats, hamsters, and of course fish!!! so I think I will be fine. Umm, they do not sell salt water fish BUT they do sell salt water supplies and the lady said people come in all the time with questions about salt water, so she was happy I had experiance with it. And yeah I think this job is a great fit right now. Thanks Mia and Hannah!
