Guppies Only

I am not going to go on about this for to long because very few of you care about fish tanks….especially like I do. I have helped a lot of people put together ten gallons though, yet have yet to do one myself. True to my style I chose a filter that was made for a 70 gallon fish tank. It is a Marineland duel biowheel 350 H.O.B.; a filter that could easily sustain a freshwater tank the size of my reef tank. Also I chose another filter, an under gravel, just to give it a little more of an added edge. Quite seriously the filtration on my ten gallon could sustain a 100 gallon fish tank. Yes, I do give a whole new meaning to the word “overkill.” This ten gallon is going to be a guppies only tank. I plan to put all different types of males in there, it should be pretty cool considering all the different colors, patterns and shapes male guppies come in. Also, with the filtration I have on this tank, I can pretty much put in as many fish as I want, should be pretty cool :) Right now I have five cycling guppies that are getting the, well, cycling going….hopefully they will make it.

As you can see the filter is almost the same length as the tank :)

Oh! and Stephanie (one of my best friends) got promoted to manager at Great Clips today....I'm proud.

God Bless.

I Hate My Life

As if losing and or having my wallet stolen wasn't enough, check this out:

Yeah that would be one OF TWO hairs trapped in my unopened bubble tea!!! Stephanie raised a good question when she said, "who did you piss off?" Seriously! when are things going to turn around for me??? I guess the bright side of this is that it really cheered up Stephanie (who was having a bummer day)....whenever something bad happens to me it puts a smile on Stephanie's face; such a twisted yet beautiful friendship we have- she is truly one of my best friends :)

Even though God clearly hates me, God Bless.

P.S. OF COURSE....I had them make me a new one!

Yet Another Pike Place Adventure

Yesterday my Bellevue family and I took the bus to downtown Seattle, which I might add only takes about 15 minutes….pretty cool. We went to Pike Place Market and enjoyed the scene and nice weather. We also ate at the waterfront Ivars, which is one of my all time favorite things- I heart clam nectar!!! I would drink that stuff 24/7 if only I had better access to it. So yummy. Oh, and I would also like to say that I am really enjoying my new job, it is actually pretty fun believe it or not. Imagine that….actually looking forward to work??? Am I in bizarro world or something? Idk, someone save me from this happy and contentness, it doesn’t fit my personality ;) Here are a few pics from yesterday:

My Crazy Weekend

Wow the last two days have been wicked crazy! I am going to trim a bit of the fat for you, as I don’t want to over stimulate those with weaker hearts. Friday, I went to my #1 buddy’s house for a wine and cheese party which was such a blast! Andrea and Dan, aka Dandrea, are two of the nicest friends anyone could ask for and certainly know how to arrange a good time- I had so much fun and even made a few new friends. Saturday was Meredith, one of my long time best friends, and David her new husband's wedding. I had the honor of being an usher, and let me tell you I worked that wedding like a pro ;) After the wedding the boy’s Jr. High leaders (myself included) took some of the kids to the skate park, which was really fun. The Jr. High boys I help lead form one of the most amazing groups I have ever encountered. They are all friends, there is no hierarchy, they all just get along and treat each other with respect- totally a foreign quality to me. It is so cool- so incredibly bummed I forgot my camera! After that I headed over to my friend Mia’s house for some mean games of rummikub!!! I love rummikub SO much! Best game ever. Finally, after losing every game of rummikub to noobs (I know, I have brought shame to the Seitz family) I went to my friend Ana’s for a small get together/party which was pretty wild as usual ;) None the less as usual I had a great time….no pics of that either, sorry.

Joey Turns 21

As always Bellevue keeps surprising me, last night was no exception. Joey a friend from church just turned 21 the other day and not surprisingly didn't want to spend this momentous occasion in lame Tacoma....can you blame him? So! Joey, Richard, Seth, and I went to downtown Bellevue for some kicks and cheap tricks....ok, scratch that last part. Anyway, I don't want to go to into detail but it was definitively an amazing time. Most notably, bowling at Lucky Strike, which is a luxury bowling alley....bet you Tacoma folk didn't even know such a thing as a luxury bowling alley existed? We rented the premium private bowling lanes (which is separated from the common people). IT WAS SO RAD! Here is a small pic of it~

Kinda hard to see all the details, but yes those are white leather couches....

So yeah, Happy Birthday Joey; it was really cool to chill with some quality Christan dudes. Also for those of you who still think Tacoma is a cool place, come to Bellevue and allow me to permanently change your mind.

God Bless

Stupid Wrasse!

Yesterday was quite the experience; I drove all the way down to Corvallis Oregon, to visit my grandma Iona, which was awesome. I have to admit I love rummikub and tri-ominos and we played plenty! She also kicked my sorry butt at Wii!!! Didn’t see that coming! I also drove back the same day, on the road way too much. Today has been pretty crazy; I got some new fish and coral for my tank. My bicolor angel, foxface rabbitfish, and heniochus butterfly (my three coolest, most colorful fish) are all gone now do to their coral eating ways…actually the foxface ate some toxic red slime and died, the other two were taken back to the local fish store. Anyway, I was really excited to add a new fish I purchased, a royal gramma, which is bright pink and yellow to get some color back in my tank. Well my sixline wrasse was jealous on this new more beautiful fish and literally ripped him apart in like ten minutes….it was terrible. By the way when you add a fish to a reef tank it is impossible to get them out without tanking everything out of the tank. Well, even though I had that extremely unpleasant and expensive experience. Everything else seems to be doing well so far and some of them are even pictured below, enjoy:

Derasa Clam

Damicornis Coral

Brain Coral

Banggai Cardinals

Oh! and before I forget I made it on the dean's list again. Which I hope helps me get into Graduate School at UW.

Something To Do

So between undergrad and graduate school I am going to have 5 or 6 months with pretty much nothing to do. I am going to need something to do!!!...a job would be nice. Even though I do now have a Bachelors degree I do not want to get a "good" job, at least one that pays well or is a lot of work. I am after all only going to be able to work for a few months (I will have to quit when I start grad school) and don't want to get a job that is going to be hard to quit, because it is a "good" one. I basically just want a fun fairly mindless job that deals with something I like.....maybe aquariums???

Well just down the street from where I live in Bellevue they just opened a new Petsmart. When I saw them preparing it for the grand opening I thought that would be a great place to keep me busy over my break, I like animals....particularly fish, I have experience working in places like that, I can walk there, and did I mention I like fish? Anyway, I quickly sent in an application and set up an interview. Well today was the interview and they hired me on the spot. I really can't blame them....if you owned a Christian book store and Jesus applied there, I don't think you would hesitate to hire him on the spot either.

Anyway, I should start there next week and am pretty happy with this outcome. I enjoy working/cleaning my fish tanks so I would imagine doing it there will be just as much fun. Also, we didn't discuss this but I am sure I will get an employee discount which I am very much going to enjoy. I will be working there part time, starting at $10 bucks a hour.

God Bless

My Brain is Mush

Wow, sorry if I have talked to you in the last few days and I made no sense; sorry if I talk to you in the coming week and make no sense. My brain has been turned into a substance not unlike Nickelodeon slime. I have so much going on right now and none of it seems to be happening smoothly- I am very stressed. It looks like at this rate I will not be done with school until Thursday the 19th.... a whole week later then I originally planned, bummer. The one glimpse of good times to come within the week will be this Saturday, when I see the Lion King in Seattle with my friend Dianna- should be fun. I just hope I don't fall asleep during it or go insane before then. Say a prayer for me.

I desperately need to keep focused, I desperately need to be relaxed. I fear I will be sleeping very little from now until the night of the 19th. I could really use the support and love of friends right now.... to keep me from going postal ;)

God Bless

Red Devil Happieness

Here in Bellevue I do have my 1.66 gallon freshwater fish tank, but my brother also has a 55 gallon freshwater, which used to be my old tank (and technically is my mothers now). Recently my brother's "prized" Oscar Cichlid finally passed to the other realm (I am not a big Oscar fan). Once the Oscar fish died I took over creative control of the tank- here are the results:

Two Red Devil Cichlid (mating pair, they have babies every few months)

On top is the female

Close up of the male, he is very aggressive!

I am really excited because Misuk and Saben (sister-in-law and nephew) are going to be surprised by this when they get back from San Fransisco latter today. They are going to love it!!!
For me, just another day in aquarium paradise (not the store). God Bless.

Another Update, So You Know I Am Still Alive

Here I am again with only 18 more days until school is over. There are a lot of you I really miss, but fear not, I will soon be free of school work. I just wanted to say that things are going pretty so so. I have a lot of work to do and very little time to do it. I would suggest steering clear of me for those next 18 days….my answer to just about everything will, or at least should be, "no" anyway. On the brighter side I am really enjoying being a part of the Jr. Higher’s Mortar Groups, at which I am one of the leaders. Those kids are nuts! but at the same time pretty entertaining and definitively worthwhile. Well, tomorrow I need to put together a case statement for the church, say a prayer for me….I will probably be pulling my hair out throughout. God Bless.

Just a Lackluster Update

So I guess I lied when I said I wouldn’t update this until mid March…so how do you like the music? A bit strange wouldn’t you say? Well guess what? Strange is fun…so just relax and attempt to enjoy. Anyway, school is going so-so. I aced my History midterm and completely and utterly bombed my Organizational Development midterm- “you got to take the wins with the losses,” my brother said. First time in my UW career I have done this bad on an exam though. My only worry is that this will hurt my chances of graduate school. On the bright side, I need to humble myself a bit and that is what this failing showed me. Not to mention worst case scenario is that I just end up with a Bachelors degree, should graduate school become out of reach...I could live with that. My life has been taking some interesting turns lately though, mostly with realization of myself and the people around me. Human beings are so complex and fascinating, the things we battle or except in ourselves…wow. Not to mention the new people in my life…again, wow…didn’t see that coming, but I am enjoying the diversity. So yeah, anyway, now that midterms are over I will start working on the churches grant proposal this week. I really hope this thing comes together beautifully; it would be so nice to help the church out financially with this purposeful act of philanthropy. Oh! speaking of philanthropy, I updated the entry “The Bravern Bellevue.” Some new shops have been released- most noteworthy of which, Ferragamo. So yeah, I am still insanely busy so please avoid calling me until mid March…ok, maybe one call would be nice though…but that’s it! All right, hope you Valentines Day was better than mine and have a nice week, God Bless.

Chinese New Year Fun

Living in Bellevue now, it is much easier to visit Seattle and what it has to offer. Today my Bellevue family and I visited China Town Seattle where they were celebrating the Chinese New Year. There were some performances and cultural this and that, which was fun and interesting. Here are a few pics from the day, enjoy:

We ate here

Overall a pretty fun day, to be honest the best part was visiting the aquariums in China Town...got myself a new guppy for my 1.66gallon freshwater :)

Enjoy the stuperbowl and God Bless

Friday & Saturday

My Friday and Saturday were quite good; in fact they might even be on the edge of greatness. Friday was a day of days for me on the account that I finally, after years of wanting to, visited the Seattle Premium Outlets in Tulalip (not exactly located in Seattle). This outlet mall was by far the best I have ever been to. Coach, Burberry, Hugo Boss, Michael Kors, Juicy Couture, Movado, Cole Haan….it was all there and at deep discounts! To accompany me on this valiant excursion was the lovely Bethany and Hwa Young- very fun day, with some very good deals.

Saturday my Bellevue family, my friend Devin, and I explored Pike Place Market in Seattle which was pretty cool and interesting (I much prefer Bellevue to Seattle though). Later, Devin and I explored downtown Bellevue and its many wonders and amenities. I have to tell you Bellevue never ceases to surprise me…such a wonderful place to live. I am having trouble understanding Tacoma, and what makes people want to live there- to each their own.

One More Fish Tank

It must seem like all I think about is aquariums...truth is I sometimes think about cars too. Actually these past few weeks have kind of been an exception for the fish/reef tankness in my life, so chances are after this post you won't hear about fish or fish tanks for some time. None the less.... My grandfather recently started another one, this time a bit larger than his 10 gallon. He upgraded to a 55 gallon tropical freshwater:

Pretty cool....again if anyone ever wants to set up a tank I would be happy to help.

God Bless

Fresh Water...I May Need to get Used to This

I don't know how long you all expected me to go in Bellevue without my own personal fish tank? I have a disease, much like alcoholism...except mine is with aquariums :) So, since I left my 75 gallon saltwater reef in Tacoma, I felt that I needed a little aquarium to myself (and Saben) here in Bellevue (to help ease the separation anxiety). So here it is, my 1.66 gallon freshwater fish tank. The stock list includes two male guppies and a kuhli eel loach.

1.66 gallons in all it's glory

The eel loach

P.S. A special thank you to Dianna for helping make this possible.

Bellevue is rad, God Bless.
